MY COMMENTS: Wing Gundam Zero, one of the two "perfect-grade" Gundams in the series. Its designs was first abolished because it was too dangerous and powerful. This Gundam was piloted by various people during the series, and eventually became the property of Heero Yuy. This Gundam is armed with the most destructive weapon in the series, the twin buster rifle. It is capable of eliminating up to 30 enemy MS's in one go... It can also be split into two separate buster rifles. It is also armed with a machine cannon mounted on the neck and the traditional laser beam sabre.
The thing that makes this Gundam distinct is its "ZERO system". For more information about this system, click here. Like its predecessor, Wing Gundam, this MS can be transformed into a plane for high-speed travelling (a weird looking plane, but very cool nevertheless). This is also the only MS that can fight well in all types of terrain, sea, land, air and space.
One interesting aspect is the werid looking wings this MS has. It can be opened up revealing two extra jet propulsion boosters, giving it an extra burst of speed. Wing Zero is 1 of my favourite Gundam in the series, it just looks too damn good!!! Everything is designed beautifully.
On a side note, most of you will be familiar with WingZERO's ENDLESS WALTZ variation. The colour scheme has changed into white/blue/silver, with enormous white "angel wings" spreading across its back. It can no longer transform into a plane, instead, the wings wraps around the MS's body for protection... just like an angel covering his body with its heavenly wings. Some fans enjoyed this change, while traditionalists believe that this has lost much of the mechanical and "realistic" feel about Gundams. One of the biggest attraction of the Gundam series was its believable scientific background, especailly the early series such as ZETA-Gundam and Perfect One Year War, however ENDLESS WALTZ appears to be stemming towards the other direction of aesthetics over realism.... but anyway, decide for yourself.
